Update for Southern Elementary Summer programs

We have received guidance from the Delaware State Police that there is an ongoing incident in the town of Delaware City.  At this time, there is no direct threat to Southern Elementary or Gunning Bedford Middle Schools.  However, out of an abundance of caution, both schools are on a hold, meaning students and staff are remaining in their current location. No one may enter or leave the schools at this time.  Operations inside the schools are as normal.  The Summer Food Program is canceled for today.

Families and visitors should not report to either campus at this time.  

We are receiving updates from the Delaware State Police and will provide an update on the status of our 11:30 am dismissal.
